Since 2013, the Pioneer Park Community Garden has produced delicious vegetables & berries, as well as lovely & fragrant flowers for everyone in the community to enjoy. The garden is planned, planted & harvested by a group of volunteers, who also enjoy fostering & sustaining a feeling of community togetherness (while playing in the dirt)! In the past, there haven’t been “individual plots” in the garden; instead, produce not harvested & enjoyed by community volunteers and/or residents, was donated to a local food bank. But, the future of the garden is, well, in the future. Come share in the fun! The work is easy & so gratifying.
The Community Garden is located in Pioneer Park – near the intersection of East Indiana Ave & NE 2nd St.
Weekly garden maintenance takes place Monday evenings 6:30-7:30pm, by any volunteers who come, from roughly mid-June thru September.
Please check our event calendar for more information on these special events. All garden events are free to attend and no registration required.
